Quit

This Will help especially if you have tried giving up and failed

Everyone knows to some extent the dangers of smoking. We all understand it is not good for us yet we still do it. Nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs in the world and for years I used to smoke. As a previous smoker, having around 10 a day for a few years, I know how hard it is to give up.

When trying to quit smoking I tried all of the methods advertised heavily on T.V. I started taking Nicotine chewing gum, but that lasted about a week, firstly due to the rank taste of it and secondly because of something that I was going to find out later on. This was that as well as being addicted to nicotine, your body builds up an addiction equally if not stronger for the actual habit of smoking. This could be the actual action of having a cigarrette or things you do in the day that trigger your brain into wanting one. For example I used to get up every morning have a cup of coffee and a cigarrette. Then I found that for "some reason" I was having a cigarrette everytime I had coffee irrespective of the time. Over the day I would build up different triggers other than wanting nicotine to smoke.

How I found this out and How I Quit:

Needless to say I did not bother with nicotine patches but went for two methods that were slightly outside the box. The first was a nicotine inhaler. This helped a lot but did not completely substitute the actual action of smoking as one puff on it and that was all you needed. I found this also gave me a head rush which was a bit disconserting. The Second Method, the one that worked, was going to a Hypnotist. After watching Derren Brown and Paul Mckenna hypnotise people into doing stuff they wouldn't normally, I knew there had to be professionals out there doing the opposite and helping people quit bad things. I researched it paid a one-off fee for an hour and a half session and since then I haven't touched one since.
